@jasonlsilva speaks of creative delight and awe in almost everything he shares. It was my great pleasure to experience these emotions this weekend as we savored our time @magrochester’s Picasso linograph exhibit.
These pieces were less about protest and more about how he chose to honor the masters he most admired. Jason’s words ran through my head in the hour we stayed and stared - “Protest through creativity.”
Over the last several months, I’ve felt a strong emotional pull towards protecting myself and my state of mind. As a person who still believes in democracy and appreciates the fragility of its tenure, it’s been a rough go. But, this weekend, I decided to just rest in resilience, cozy myself up in fur, and pause in the presence of process & precision.
Lest we forget that those qualities still matter and make us better as we “pursue happiness” in this country. π½
Remember who you are. You don’t need a mansplination. π©·π½ Speak up. Speak out. Women of America, this is just as much about our rights as any others’. πΊπΈ
Remember when it was illegal for women to own property?
Remember when it was illegal for women to vote?
Remember when a girl’s father chose her husband?
Remember when women had no voice in court.
Civil liberties and due process must apply to all and the rule of L A W must prevail, not the rule of one. π½ This is about more than immigration. #wakeup
And ‘snow’ it begins. π§ΆβοΈ π₯Ύπ§£
Maybe we should run a snow-pool π² this season. I’m in for 50’ by the end of February. π What’s your bet?
@magrochester Museum of the Dead Halloween Party was a blast! π₯ π»π We went as ‘Berlin Waterfall’ and ‘Into the Woods’… both pieces from artists who dedicated their careers to equity in the arts, bold experiments in color, and passion for creative expression. π¨ποΈ
π€© Cheers to the MAG for hosting a delightful night for members and guests! This was our first time attending and now we won’t miss another year’s festivities! π₯³
Colin & I were even nominated for a Best MAG Costume Award! π€ Gahhhh! What a treat! Lady Liberty & the Mummy Trio were winners!! πππΌππΌππΌππΌ

One of the deepest values that •everyone• in our nation enjoys is the right to assembly and free speech. π£π¬
Today, that right was practiced and honored across the fruited plains! πποΈπΎ
As a student of history - a teacher of social studies - a citizen - and a voter, I’m grateful to be an American and to live in this amazing country.
Thank you to all who vote, who peacefully protest, who add their two cents to the collective conversation we call “the great American experiment”. May we all continue to evolve and unfold in a direction that improves the lives of our neighbors, our communities, our own families, and our planet. π
Have you heard of Emotion Code clearings? π It’s energy work that my generous friend @sonyaeckel has been guiding me through this season.
Care to know how it’s going?

What’s filling you up? Loading your heart with gratitude? Warming your spirit and charging your soul? …I hope it’s the people in your life.
These women mean so much to me. Not for what they do -but for who they are.
Surround yourself with others who meet you where you’re at, leave judgement at the door, and lead their lives through a lens of love.
Everyone needs a sense of community and belonging. Everyone needs a sense of true self and of purpose. Everyone needs friends who say “yes” and “we’ve got your back”.
I’m feeling thankful for all of the above and hope to be a person who can be the same friend in kind. π

Do you have generalized anxiety around the deployment of AI technology? π€ Thinking about this because my 22 year old has graduated with her BA & is completely paralyzed by her contemplations over the world of work - frozen in fear that her skills and interests have no place or purpose.
Here’s the thing- fearing AI is akin to the Luddites fearing the loom. πͺ’ I’m peering at the landscape of generative AI, considering its relevance on a scale as vast as the domestication of fire or the ubiquitous use of electricity. To fear it is to miss the point.
If you’re outlook is in alignment with my kid, I’ll ask you what I yearn to ask her… “How was that burger from grub hub?” And “Tell me more about that anime convention you just attended?” How is fearing AI compatible?
Is our cognitive dissonance so deep that we find shelter in egregiously ignoring the gazillion examples of our interdependence between AI and the basic functions of our daily existence already in play?
Every aspect of our lives is and will continue to be impacted by generative AI - for the love…we’re sitting here on Insta together, right?!?
I’m feeling curious, and aligning my expectations with the likes of Franklin, Cox, and Silva. AI is unfolding. It is us. We are it. It is other -but not separate. Magic and mathematics melted into a slurry inextricable from reality as we understand it to be. Maybe we ought to call it “the domestication of the universe”? What do you think?
Siblings.
Often, these are the people with whom we travel the greatest distance. π°οΈ
The entanglement we experience throughout our lifetime with them is mystical and profound, dispite momentary circumstances. πͺ’
I once (twice, three times) read, “Many Lives, Many Masters”, by Brian L. Weiss, M.D., who explored the generational psychology and epigenetic connections that we carry in our cells thoughout our lifetime. He suggests that the people who surround us now, are not tabula rasa individuals, but rather - souls who quantum leap with us from one human experience to the next. β³
My brother, whom I see in person perhaps once a year, delights in a “chewy” glass of CabSauv π·…without knowing, or ever discussing this preference with him, I remarked that the wine was “chewy” during Liz’s graduation celebration - and with wide eyes, my beautiful sister-in-law turned to me and remarked, “Did you say ‘chewy’? Your brother is the only one I’ve ever heard describe a full-body-red in that way.” I smiled, but my thought was, “That’s quantum entanglement”. πΈοΈπ
This week, I’m thinking a lot about family, our relationships, and the space - between, which is not at all empty. It’s filled with non-duality energy - connection at the quantum level, which humans have known about for millennia, but now study through a lens of 60-minute billable sessions, laboratory work, & mathematical data sets. Science, proving spiritual knowing.
Cheers π₯ to siblings.
Cheers π₯ to interconnected friends.
Cheers π₯ to our walk, together, through time, space, and experience.
For our friends and family, near and far, we invite you to read Colin’s father’s obituary.

Colin came home from Highland Hospital last night and shared the story of his father’s quiet passing. A man and his dad, sitting through the last precious moments, here, together. ππ€
The bustle of our daily experiences pales in comparison to the last of our hours. When the clock no longer matters, when energy from one realm overlaps the next, when space and time melt together. Dylan Thomas famously wrote, “Rage, rage against the dying of the light.” But resistance is not the path we all ultimately face. When the moment comes, we choose, surrender. π·
Bob, you sailed, you studied, you invented, you built. You raised a family, you saw the sunset, you created community and friendships for a lifetime. You loved and practiced devotion. We honor your life and are so thankful to have been part of your world. ππΌ

The Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY feels more like being at a very special friend’s house, than it does a museum.
Perhaps because it welcomes the community with open arms and offers is a story through the lens of those who give voice to people who have walked these streets - and have made a difference in the lives of others.
The narrative here is about inclusion, about diversity, about locality, and about telling the story of the many, rather than the few.
We’re grateful to be part of it. πΌοΈ
